Instead, I would like to suggest the devs to take some more time with the second white march add-on and really add some beef to the stronghold. I could go on with the lack of customization options (see Fallout 4 - that is going to be a modern base building concept), but I do not just want to troll here. Once you choose to defend your stronghold, the game beams you right into some kind of a stupid yard brawl right in front of your door.

However, nothing of that actually happens, because in Pillars of Eternity, your stronghold is just a lazy excuse of a game concept I have seen much better implemented in other games (like e.g.

I return with my war party in time to bolster up defenses, man the towers, instruct the troups to defend the weak spots, discuss tactics, prepare the ammo for the ballistas, heat up the burning oil cauldron, set up vicous traps, lock the gate, stuff like that. So this band of merciless mercenaries attacks my stronghold.
